Luxury fashion storefront
Four answers first, then eight milestones, every fix proven on the rendered page at three breakpoints.
Context
A luxury fashion brand with a live storefront built in Framer, 19 routes (18 after one page was merged). The job: fix the site against the brand guidelines, then prove each fix on rendered pages. All the work ran on a separate branch, so the live site stayed untouched.
Starting point
A plan that said everything was blocked on four answers: where the campaign video is, where the source videos are, whether a retired page redirects or goes, and whether to work on a branch. A type system that had drifted from the guidelines: 15 text styles, 8 of them in a typeface the brand does not use.
Decision
Get the four answers first. Then work in eight milestones.
- Rebuild the type system, do not swap a font: map the 15 old styles onto the brand's five levels, rename them by purpose, add a responsive scale.
- Set navigation by the guidelines' own rule: clear space equals twice the cap height of the wordmark.
- Never click cart or checkout controls on a live site.
- Choose the video encode by measured quality, not taste. Embedded video hosts were ruled out: they set tracking cookies and the site has no cookie banner.
Proof
Every fix was checked on rendered pages at three breakpoints, not read back from settings. Typography: 15 styles rebuilt, a responsive scale on 14, 167 of 189 inline font overrides resolved, 61 evidence renders. The logo was invisible on 13 of 19 routes at rest and on all 19 once scrolled. 9 footer links were mis-wired and 6 page titles were wrong. Four of the defects fixed were live before the work began and in no brief.
Where AI was used
An AI assistant made the edits through an agent command-line tool. Checks that read the pixels caught a breakpoint rotation that reading the settings back could not detect. The encode was chosen on a measured similarity score across test encodes.
Time saved: not measured.
